There is now a BCALP listserv (majordomo@bcdoctors.com). All lab physicians in BC are eligible and urged to join. There are a number of issues, medical and political that affect the profession. The listserv is an avenue of communication that will be of benefit to most pathologists (if they subscribe!)

To subscribe is quite simple. The instructions follow, but in summary all one has to do is to send an email to the list email address and things happen automatically. You can unsubscribe at any time and for those of you worried about receiving too much email, it won't happen. Of note, this list is closed, ie. all signing up have to be approved by me, (J. Cupples; jbc@binary-environments.com).

SUBSCRIBING TO THIS LIST (easy & quick)

Click here (*Note* you must type the following words "subscribe bcalp" into the body of the email, or you will not get subscribed). If you wish to do it manually, please do the following.

Send an email to: majordomo@bcdoctors.com with the following command in the body of the email: subscribe bcalp

You will receive list email to the address that you send your "subscribe" command from. Note: The "subject line" is ignored by the Majordomo program.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you use a "signature block" at the end of your email, Majordomo may mistakenly believe each line of your message is a command; if this happens you will receive error messages. To keep this from happening, either put a line starting with a hyphen ("-") before your signature, or put a line with just the word: "end". You may also opt to remove your signature block when subscribing and unsubscribing.

If for some reason your wish to have the mailings go to a different address from which you are subscribing, you would add that address to the command. For example, if your preferred email address is jqpublic@my-isp.com you would put the line:

subscribe bcalp jqpublic@my-isp.com

into the body of the email.

When sending a message to the list, email to: majordomo@bcdoctors.com

When "replying" to a message that you intend for everyone on the list, hit "reply" in your email program.

To unsubscribe from the list, send an email to: majordomo@bcdoctors.com with the following command in the body of the email: unsubscribe bcalp
